What’s the buzz? It’s knowing about what’s hot or not.

How has buzz got anything to do with PR? It’s got everything to do with PR, especially if you’re working in Consumer public relations.

When you’re drawing up a profile of your target audience, you should know things like whether they’re listening to Maroon 5 or the Killers. Not only that, but you should also try and find out what they’ll be listening to in six months time.

You hear about marketing gurus going out to talk innovators in a bid to try and find out what’s cool or what’s the next big thing. Thanks to the Internet, that’s a whole lot easier than it used to be.

I use three main tools to keep up with what’s going on:
Yahoo’s buzz index
(The already plugged) Boards.ie
Trend Central (sign up for their daily email now!)
