Piaras Kelly PR - Public Relations in Ireland

I’m after receiving an interesting email which got me thinking. There are plenty of small businesses out there that would like do a little public relations, but either don’t know where to start or simply don’t have the time.

Well why not get thirty PR students to do some free PR for you? Twice a year the Fitzwilliam Institute run a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations and they have at least thirty potential PR gurus at a time.

What’s that I hear you say? ‘They’re nothing but a bunch of beer-swilling, smelly students!’ True perhaps, but I was one of those social outcasts not so long ago. With a lecturer to guide us and no other clients to distract our attention, I think my class would have proved a good return on investment.

So each October and February, it’s probably worth giving them a call if you’ve got a project in mind, but no funds to follow through.
