God bless the era of transparency
Published June 11th, 2005 in PersonalYou’ve got to love Ireland’s Freedom of Information act because it leads to wonderful stories like today’s well reported figures of how much Bertie Ahern, Ireland’s Taoiseach (Prime Minister), spends on make-up. Hats off to the Irish Independent’s coverage which goes under the headline of ‘No sparing Bertie’s blusher as make-up budget hits €167,000′
It’s both funny to laugh at and a bit scary at the same time because it drives home the point that modern politics are fairly similar to the soap operas that we all love and hate.
Needless to say this is another reason why I think politicians should podcast rather than blog because you’d better believe that if Bertie had a blog it would be inundated with comments looking for advice about applying Mascara
