If I did Consumer PR for Apple…
Published June 14th, 2005 in GeneralThere’s always going to be companies that you wished you worked for. For me, one of the names at the top of my list would be Apple. Forget the fact that I’m a Mac convert, they’re just one of the coolest companies around at the moment.
I think they have so much to offer when it comes to Consumer PR. Take the iPod for example. Numerous companies dangle the device as a carrot for consumers they want to connect with and Apple get free love at their expense.
What’s struck me though is the number of accessories that are popping up for the iPod. Forget things that increase its functionality and look at accessories which make Apple’s golden child even cooler instead like these or this.
I don’t think it’s hard to guess where I’m going with this, but Apple should be embarking on creative campaigns like running competitions to design iPod covers or putting on exhibitions for artists to showcase their interpretation of the iPod’s impact on society.
To be honest though, because it’s Apple, people are already doing these things for them inadvertently. Why? Because they’re cool. Now all they need is for Carlito to say so!
