Sometimes Macs aren’t always the best
Published July 29th, 2005 in PersonalMy Powerbook is finally back up and running again after around 24 hours stressing. It all started when my battery went dead so I picked up my adaptor and plugged it in, only for it to spark.
I put the other end into the laptop but no disco and the stressing began. To cut a long story short - a trip to the shop, four 13 amp fuses, two knives used as screwdrivers, three 3 amp fuses from lamps and a DVD player, a partridge and a pear tree later - I discovered my adaptor was dead.
So apart from 24 hours with a battery dead laptop I have to shell out €79.99 on a new adaptor! As much as I love my Mac this never happened to my Toshiba, hopefully this won’t turn into an expensive affair.

I think you’ll find it was the socket you plugged it into (electrical surge) as opposed to a faulty adapter!
At least you had a live elec tech support to call!
