The Anatomy of Buzz review
Published August 8th, 2005 in BooksPeople say conversation is a lost art; how often I have wished it were. - Edward R. Murrow
The Anatomy of Buzz by Emanuel Rosen is a book about Buzz Marketing, which I was quite hesitant about buying - why is it that every book on the subject sounds like one of those job advertisements to make thousands of dollars working from home?
After reading The Anatomy of Buzz I was quite pleased with my choice (even more so after flicking through George Silverman’s The Secret of Word-Of-Mouth Marketing) While it doesn’t deliver on the template that most people bought the book for, it breaks down what buzz entails and how the message spreads. It gives an insight into how to create a buzz marketing campaign, but it’s worth pointing out that buzz marketing isn’t going to help a woeful product or service (it’ll probably only amplify the negativity about it!)
While this book isn’t The Tipping Point, but it definitely sits up there as the best of the rest.
