RTE openness leads to tons of hits
Published August 17th, 2005 in PR in IrelandWhen we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe - John Muir
EirePreneur posts that the openness of the RTE website and its RSS feeds means that it is linked to by high profile blogs (and even lesser blogs like my own)
In media terms there is an even more important reason why the RTE site surpasses its Irish Times equivalent. Take the Business section to prove my point, it is the homepage of pretty much all business journalists. In a high pressure job you need information asap and there’s nothing worse than having to contend with a login screen.
When an important story breaks and I flick to it from my RSS, I’ll always choose the RTE feed because it’s open, efficient and instant. Mind you, at least the Times have an RSS feed unlike the Indo.
