Irish bloggers for hire

The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing - Albert Einstein

It’s taken me a while to post about this, but Ed Byrne has an interesting post up called ‘Irish bloggers for hire‘. Before anyone gets riled up, the post is about getting Irish bloggers to write interesting and relevant material for companies on their website, not paying bloggers to write about a company.

I think this is a good start because a lot of businesses simply don’t have time to continuously post content for a website. It’s just like the way a lot of companies outsource PR - they might have someone with expertise in place, but to get the optimum results they work with an outside party because employees already have certain roles and responsibilities.

Unfortunately I can’t see many Irish businesses taking advantage of this, and for those that do, I would hope that they would learn about the medium before committing to it. Blogs don’t revolutionise communication, they simply add another dimension to it.

Anyone that claims that their business doesn’t need a blog or that blogging in general isn’t relevant to them, should take a moment to think about what they’re saying for a moment. Everyone can always do more. Business is all about profit. If you can’t do that bit extra to reach your target audience then you obviously aren’t trying to earn an extra few dollars. Success is a journey, not a destination!

I’ve started blogging for my company and I can’t place a value on just how much it has benefitted business. Not only does it retain a visitor to your website a little longer, but you learn so much about the market your in, competitors, new business ideas….. to be honest the list is endless. I was blind on the importance of it until recently. But I see very clearly now. Readers take note, and the opportunities that will arise if you do!
