Laptop skins – the ultimate in corporate branding?
1 Comment Published January 29th, 2006 in ResourcesCorporate branding seems to be becoming a big issue for PR consultancies in Ireland at the moment. I guess that it portrays a better brand image, as well as looking professional and having put in the effort.
I’ve seen branded memory keys, CDs and DVDs designed for pitches and props created to add an extra effect. However, there’s a niche in the market that I feel a new company that has entered the market could exploit. Aspoke.com is the brainchild of Antoin O’Lachtain and it produces laptop skins. Visit their product page to view some samples.
Antoin has posted a picture on his own website of a laptop skin he designed for Fon, another company he is involved in, which illustrates a company branded laptop skin. My interest perked up when I saw it because PR consultancies are often involved in presentation pitches to prospective clients and would probably invest in similar laptop skins, especially when you consider how cheap they are, relatively speaking.
It’s another way of going the extra mile for new business. The branded pen is so cliched at this point, but a laptop skin is something out of the ordinary (and is also a handy way to make sure you don’t mix up your laptop with someone else
) When you consider the fact that you can also remove the laptop skin, it means that you could specifically design a skin for a pitch, something I’ll definitely consider in the future.

Not too sure if it would help for corporate branding but I’m seriously considering buying one! Cool idea!
