Ed Byrne launches new blog and geek dinners in Ireland
Published March 14th, 2006 in PersonalEd Byrne has launched a new blog which will be well worth a read. He’s recently joined Hosting365 as their Marketing Director, hence the lack of posts on his old site. He will also maintain the Hosting 365 blog.
Ed has just announced the launch of a series of geek dinners in Ireland. The first is due to take place in Galway on April 1st (no that’s not a joke.) The reason behind the dinners as Ed explains is:
The reason we’re trying to do this is that Ireland has a wealth of talented technologists, but unlike ‘The Valley’ we don’t share our expertise and collaborate as a group. Ultimately if things keep going this way it will result in a creative gap - where Ireland provides call-centre like resources to US tech companies and we end up competing with China, India and Eastern Europe - which obvioulsy isn’t a route that makes any sense.
