Channel 6 and the perils of being a social photographer
Published April 5th, 2006 in PR in IrelandAnother week and another launch, last week it was for Channel 6, Ireland’s new TV station.
Channel 6 - personally I don’t get it. The selling point is that it doesn’t do the news and weather, just entertainment. I understand the concept, but since I’m able to get the majority their content on other channels, I don’t see why I’d bother to tune in.
Social photography - I never realised what a tough job social photographers had. Dublin has a wealth of Z-list celebrities, but I had to laugh as the photographers on the launch night tried to shift through the crowd and get their shots. A quick tip for anyone who is ever asked to pose in these photos, always stand on the very right as you’ll be the first person mentioned in the caption.

You mean the left of the photographer - your right!
Thanks Ed, I’ll amend that!
“Media Attendance and Social Photographers welcome” - from a press release I recently got.
I knew ‘Social Photographers’ were a type of photographer, I just don’t think I’ve ever seen the term before. I can only guess I’ll be seeing/hearing more of it.
