Richard Moyles has set up a new website which is an interesting spin-off of the Million Dollar Homepage. The site, entitled SpendYourStash.com, is targeting advertisers who are trying to get a slice of the SSIA windfall which is going to enter the Irish economy soon.

For those unfamiliar with the SSIA scheme, it’s a savings program which was set up a couple of years ago whereby for every four euros you saved by the end of the scheme, the government would give you one euro. Needless to say plenty of people set up these accounts and the accounts are about to start maturing.

The media is now constantly buzzing with stories offering advice on what to spend your SSIAs on, every financial institution in the country is also giving their opinion to the public and the public is starting to talk about what they are going to do with their pot of gold.

SpendYourStash isn’t an original idea, but it’s something which might just take off given the mass hysteria around SSIAs. Every organisation across Ireland wants to get their paws on some of that cash, whether it’s a bank, charity or luxury brand. In all the excitement, advertisers might actually jump on the bandwagon and pay for space on the site.

With the tagline, “The wait for your SSIA is over - enjoy life, enjoy that stash of cash!”, this website deserves to succeed - it sums up the Celtic Tiger perfectly
