New design for Herald AM - not a fan
Published April 20th, 2006 in PR in IrelandThe Herald AM has undergone a bit of a redesign. I’m not impressed, the new design looks exceptional bland and comes across as more of a website design.
Here’s the new cover.

Here’s the old cover design.

And here’s an inside page featuring the new layout. Look at the top of the page to see what I mean by web design, the titles look like tabs.

Below is a comparison between the new and the old version.

The headline ‘Traffic Hell for Dublin’ is quite apt. Here’s the bottleneck I have to sit in for twenty-thirty minutes every evening. Photo taken from the passenger side of course.

Metro is far better than Herald AM really but we end up with the latter every day because of A’s route to work. I don’t mind the new design - it’s quite snazzy I think although I hadn’t picked up on the website similarities.
It is funny how which one you end up with is completely determined by your route to work.
Have to admit I hadn’t noticed the new design. However I have noticed that the quality of the print is really bad lately. All blurry. And the crossword (which is my buffer between sanity and insanity on the bus) has the wrong solutions for the previous days crossword.
Anyone know if there is a webpage for Herald Am?
Have to say I prefer the Metro - never any mix up with the crossword!!
