New job at Edelman
Published December 12th, 2006 in PersonalI’ve left Drury Communications to join Edelman’s Dublin office. Over the past couple of years, I’ve had fantastic opportunities and gotten to work with some great people at Drurys. After saying farewell to clients and a night out with my colleagues, I finished up last Friday week.
The only thing I won’t miss is the daily commute, I don’t think I’ve ever been looking forward to public transport as much. Now I’m eagerly anticipating meeting my new colleagues and getting settled into the new surroundings and clients.

Congratulations mate. Looking forward to be working with you. Welcome aboard!
Congrats. How long was the old commute and how long is the new one?
Congrats Piaras! I wish you well.
What is your new position?
Best of luck, Piaras. AS someone who lives about a ten minute drive from work, and who goes home for lunch every day, the shorter the commute, the better.
Welcome aboard! *8-)
Thanks for the comments. I’m joining as an account manager.
The commute is 45 minutes. That includes walking to the station, the train ride and the stroll up to the office. I used to drive to Drurys and it would take around an hour to get in each morning (if I left between 7 - 7.30) and at least 1 hour and 45 minutes to drive home.
I can get up at 7.30 now, so it’s an hour lie in each morning. Each evening I could be home, cook a meal and eat it with time to spare.
The Bermuda Triangle of Dublin traffic is no more!
Congratulations, Piaras!
Best of luck to you, Piaras. Sounds like a big step up!
I no longer commute and I gotta say, I don’t miss it at all!
Congratulations on the appointment Piaras, and the commute sounds great (coming from an extreme commuter - I feel your pain! But never knew Dublin was that bad!).
Best of luck with that Piaras. You going to have any tech clients you can bug me about
All will be revealed in the New year John. I’m sure I’ll find some reason to keep pestering you.
Hi Piaras! Congratulations and good luck from one of the very few who has a shorter commute on the same journey thanks to heading in the right direction on the M1!Looking forward to some great meals!
Fat chance of me cooking for you Dad
Now isn’t that annoying? The “Ones to watch in 2007″ post doesn’t go live til 2 hours past midnight on January 1st. Stupid trackbacks getting ahead of themselves.
Yeah thought that was quite odd. Thanks in advance I guess
